Oss Originals, paying tribute to those who changed the history of martial arts! Featuring the names of Jigoro Kano, the creator of Judo, and one of the most influential martial artist of the modern era. Mitsuyo "Conde Koma" Maeda was Kano's student and the person responsible for spreading Judo in Brazil. As a fighter he was outstanding but he was immortalized as a teacher. He taught the Gracie family among many other notable practitioners including Luiz Franca and is often regarded as the god father of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Carlos Gracie, Maeda's student who would go onto refine what Maeda taught him and create Gracie Jiu jitsu. His student and younger brother, Helio Gracie would continue to evolve the art and in 1993, Helio's son created the UFC to showcase the effectiveness of the art. Helio's other son Royce would go on to become the first UFC champion.
